Zakynthos, (Zante), is the southern-most of the Ionian Sea Islands complex in western Greece. It covers an area of about 400 sq.km. (155 sq.mi) with more than 40,000 inhabitants. The Island was named “Fiore di Levante” by the Venetian conquerors, a title meaning “The Flower of the East”, given for its unique beauty. Apart from the Shipwreck beach (Smuggler’s Cove or Navagio in Greek), Zante features many other natural beauties such as the Marathonissi, Keri Caves and Blue Caves.
